Engine misfiring can be caused by a lot of reasons. From the faulty spark plugs to the ignition coils, many different things can cause an engine to misfire.Missing may occur randomly and in any time.In most of the case the check engine light appears on the cluster in case of missing.In our case,while scanning a fault code related to oxygen sensors displayed.And we replaced the two oxygen sensors(If one of the oxygen sensors in your exhaust system has failed,the computer cannot monitor the emission and pressure may drop creating hesitation and bucking).But the problem remained the same.Thus we inspected fuel filter( over time your fuel filter will become clogged.when this happens the flow of fuel to your engine diminishes,which cause hesitation and bucking) and fuel pump( if your fuel pump begins to fail, it will not send the right amount of fuel to the engine).But there is nothing wrong with these two.Then we changed the old spark plugs because they were of cheap price( In order to combust gasoline properly your engine needs a steady spark and stream of electricity.This is provided by the spark plugs.A faulty spark plug can cause misfiring).One scanning result also mentioned faulty induction coil thus we changed it also.But none of the above steps/replacement resulted good.finally the real culprit has been found.The misfiring was caused by a damaged wiring to ecm.
