You Are My First Love PAT HUNT Video Steven Bogarat

http://www.sirshambling.com/artists_2...   Pat Hunt Pat Hunt came from somewhere on the West Coast – Los Angeles is usually mentioned – and was related to Brenda and Patrice Holloway. Her first 45 for Kent “You Are My First Love” was a bit too poppy for my taste but it did show off her powerful vocals. But her Grand 45 a year later was an altogether different affair. Both the uptempo R & B shuffle “Why Do You Do Me Like You Do” and the deep Good Things Come To Those Who Wait are really first class. Pat now sounds so much more grown up with a fine sense of delay in her phrasing and a lovely rasping tone. The arrangements are beautifully judged. Her final 45 for Galaxy subsidiary Early Bird was pretty good too. “Super Cool” has its dance fans, and no wonder as it is a rock hard slab of funk, but the relaxed and jazzy “Everybody’s Somebody’s Fool” gets my vote for her wonderful world weary approach and lower register vocals.
