Jane Schoenbrun on Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma

Jane Schoenbrun made a huge impression with I Saw the TV Glow (2024), a powerful and imaginative film about (among other things) gender dysphoria. The fantastic sequel premiered in Cannes: Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma, about a queer director hired to breathe new life into a trashy slasher franchise, but who then becomes obsessed with the actress who once played the “final girl” in the first film. Ahead of the world premiere in Cannes, we spoke with Schoenbrun about sex, humor, Mulholland Drive, and transition: “There were no films about it, even though it’s a beautiful process.” #JaneSchoenbrun #cannes2016 #isawthetvglow More Cinema on https://www.cinema.nl/   / vprocinema     / vprocinema
