My Chicken Coop Cleans Itself | Monthly Chicken Coop Maintenance

Hi everyone! My name is Soleil, and I’ve been using the composting method for my chicken coop for over a year with amazing results. I’ve never had to take out any waste material, and usually I add more organic material (like leaves) from my property every other month or so. The chickens do a great job at breaking everything down, all I do is give the coop and roosting area a good dusting of diatomaceous earth and rake it in (pretty much till it). My intention is for this video to help anyone thinking about it getting their own flock and the maintenance envolved or to help someone who currently has chickens lighten their farm chores. My run is 22 ft by 9 ft and I have two small roosting rooms attached. I have 13 chickens in my flock that consist of a mix of Wyandottes, Barred Rocks, one Wellsummer (Angel), and one Easter Egger (Johnny). As always, please let me know any questions you may have and thank you so much for watching and supporting my farm. With Light, Soleil
