Leaving the Yasawas After a Month | Sailing Back to Fiji's Main Island
Welcome back to another episode of WE|Sail. EPISODE 341 After nearly a month exploring the Yasawa Islands in Fiji, it's time to move on. We're running low on provisions, we've explored the majority of the island group here, and it's time to sail back to Viti Levu—Fiji's main island—to resupply and prepare for what's next. But before we leave, we're taking one last dinghy ride to a secluded beach we spotted from the boat. No one around, completely untouched—just us, a hammock, a book, and a few hours of peace before we transition back to civilization. This episode is different. No big adventure, no drama—just a quiet day wrapping up our time in the Yasawas, preparing the boat for sail, and heading back across the water. A transition episode, if you will. But sometimes these are the moments that matter most. About the Yasawa Islands: The Yasawa Islands are a volcanic archipelago in Fiji, stretching about 80 kilometers northwest of Viti Levu. Known for dramatic landscapes, crystal-clear water, remote villages, and some of Fiji's best snorkeling and diving. Most cruisers visit for 1-2 weeks; we spent nearly a month exploring the chain from south to north. Why We're Leaving: Low on fresh provisions (food, water topped off but need variety) Completed our tour of the northern Yasawas Ready for new cruising grounds Cyclone season still active—staying flexible and mobile What's Next: We're heading to new island groups in Fiji (teased at the end of this episode). More exploration, new anchorages, and continuing our journey through the South Pacific.
