Kure Kwaunoenda (Cover)
Hello, friends!! This week I bring you a song from the smoothest man ever in the history of Zimbabwean music. Fortune Muparutsa was WAY ahead of the times when it came to music production in Zimbabwe. His songs and those that he produced for others remain some of the highest quality to ever come out of Zimbabwe. This one is from 1992 and it’s called Kure Kwaunoenda. The songs talks about the heartache he feels when he has to let the love of his life go as she moves to a far away land. He says, “fly away, my little bird. If you are meant to be mine, you will return. Go on your way... one day we will see each other again.” I don’t think I could ever be as smooth as Fortune, but I hope you enjoy my take on his tune. Fortune Muparutsa, Tendai Mupfurutsa, Tamy Moyo, Jah Prayzah, Vimbai Zimuto, Alexio Kawara, Zimbabwe, Harare, Bulawayo, Mutare, Thomas Mapfumo, Oliver Mtukudzi, Shona, Hugh Masekela, South Africa, Ladysmith Black Mambazo, James Chimombe, Betty Makaya.
