Holy Trinity Church has stood at the heart of Knaresborough for 170 years, its spire rising above the town as generations have come and gone. In this short film, we explore Holy Trinity not simply as a historic building, but as a place of memory, reflection, community, and faith. Through aerial footage, music, and personal reflection, Northern Sacred Landscapes considers what such places have meant to those who built them, those who worshipped in them, and those who continue to value them today. For me, Holy Trinity is also connected to family history. My father and grandfather served here as organists, while other members of my family, including myself, sang in the choir. Returning to the church in later life has given me a renewed appreciation of what places like this still represent. Featuring original music from Northern Age. Northern Sacred Landscapes explores the beliefs, hopes, and values that have shaped our landscapes across the centuries, and the enduring monuments and sacred places left behind. With thanks to Holy Trinity Church, Knaresborough, for permitting filming to take place on a quiet day outside normal services and activities.
