What is a Secant of a Circle? | Geometry, Secants, Circles
What is a secant of a circle? We go over secants, and one interesting property about them in today's math lesson! A secant of a circle is a line that passes through the circle, intersecting it in exactly two points. Secants are usually lines, extending infinitely in both direction. However, you may also see a line segment or a ray be referred to as a secant so long as it intersects the circle exactly twice and is not contained entirely within the circle. If two secants of a circle intersect at a point outside of the circle, then there are some very cool properties to note, we go over one of them in today's lesson, called the intersecting secants theorem! I hope you find this video helpful, and be sure to ask any questions down in the comments! ******************************************************************** The outro music is by a favorite musician of mine named Vallow, who, upon my request, kindly gave me permission to use his music in my outros. I usually put my own music in the outros, but I love Vallow's music, and wanted to share it with those of you watching. Please check out all of his wonderful work.
