MELANIE Before Too Long

“It’s the little things I'll miss” This is a song written in 2013 by Alex Burnet (The Proud Flesh) which featured Melanie on vocals. I thought until February 23rd February 2024 that I’d exhausted all of the Melanie material I had and that I’d made my last Melanie fan video ever. Then suddenly, this little beauty popped up out of nowhere. In my humble opinion, it’s a ‘roadburn café’ song that Melanie could easily have written, it’s very much in her cinematic style of prose, and I just love it, especially those very poignant last two lines. I’ve also included one of my favourite Melanie photographs in the video, it was taken in 1972 by Michael Putland in London (probably), although some people seem to think it may have been Amsterdam - the jury is still out on that one!
