Holiness in All Areas of Life

We continue our journey through Leviticus by focusing on one of the book’s central themes: holiness. “Be holy, because I am holy.” Holiness is not limited to worship gatherings or religious rituals. It touches every part of life — our work, business, leadership, relationships, decisions, and daily conduct. The session begins with a recap of the offerings and priesthood, showing how God introduced worship, order, and consecration to Israel step by step. From there, we move into Leviticus 10–18, beginning with the sobering story of Nadab and Abihu, who offered unauthorized fire before the Lord. Their story reminds us that human initiative cannot replace divine instruction. What we build, lead, or offer to God must align with His will. A key lesson is that those who come near to God must regard Him as holy. This applies to business leaders as much as it applied to priests. Kingdom business is not simply about using spiritual language or attaching God’s name to our work. It is about seeking and doing the will of God. The teaching also connects holiness to clarity, sobriety, and sound judgment. Aaron is instructed not to drink wine or intoxicating drink, reminding us that leaders must not be controlled by anything that impairs judgment — whether alcohol, power, money, appetite, or ambition. Ultimately, Leviticus presents holiness as all-encompassing. God desires clean hands and a pure heart. He calls His people to be set apart, not because holiness is impossible, but because His nature is already at work in those who belong to Him.
