Emily Stubbs - Friday Feature Artist

Emily Stubbs transforms clay into joyful, expressive vessels that feel alive with colour, pattern, and personality. Through an intuitive process of layering and mark making, she creates work that is both playful and deeply considered. Her practice is shaped by her life and work in historic York, where she is a founding member of PICA Studios, an artist-led collective housed in an 18th century printworks. The studio community and its surroundings inform her approach, as she translates 2D paper collages and sketches into tactile, built ceramic forms.
