GE2025: PAP to field Shanmugam with 4 new faces in Nee Soon GRC

Law and Home Affairs Minister K Shanmugam will lead a slate of four new faces to contest the upcoming #GE2025 at Nee Soon GRC. The four potential candidates are: Mr Jackson Lam, 40, was the former chairman of the PAP’s Hougang branch. He was branch secretary in Nee Soon's Chong Pang division for close to seven years, until his move to Hougang in October 2023. Dr Syed Harun Alhabsyi, 40, is a psychiatrist and former Nominated Member of Parliament, who has been spotted walking the ground in Nee Soon since the end of March. Ms Goh Hanyan, 39, was formerly in the Ministry of Digital Development and Information as director of the Smart Nation Strategy Office and director for policy and strategy in the National Artificial Intelligence (AI) Group. Ms Lee Hui Ying, 35, is the director of communications at Temasek Foundation. She has been volunteering in Nee Soon GRC since she was 19. Mr Shanmugam identified Ms Goh and Dr Syed Harun as potential political office holders who can “go far in helping govern the country as a whole”.
