Old Rusty Camper Restoration

Welcome to my Restoration Channel. Someone gave me this Tonka Camper to restore and to make a restoration video with. It was pretty rusty but it turned out nice. For the metal parts, I used the sand blaster to remove the old paint and rust. I also used Evaporust to remove some of the rust in deep pitting or hard to reach areas. The two axles were cold blued to help prevent rust and also give a nice blue/black finish. Once parts are blued, I usually soak them in vegetable oil for over night at least. As seen in the restoration video, I had to buy 2 wheels due to the old ones being broken. I was able to find some on eBay. I used a whitening solution and UV light to help remove some of the yellowing. For the body work I used JB Weld to fill the pitting. JB Weld will withstand high temps so it is a good filler when powder coating. I powder coated the truck, which gives a great durable, finished product. I did have some trouble with the powder adhering to the camper shell, but after some time, I finally got it. The windshield was sanded and then buffed to help remove some of the scratches, and the camper windows were purchased new online.
