TUNANTADA EN HUAMALI 2026 ( El festival de la Tunantada )

Huamalí, one of the thirty-four districts that make up the province of Jauja, here in the Junín region of Peru, like other districts, celebrates its Tunantada festival in honor of the Christ Child, from January 1st to 6th each year. Nine institutions participate in this grand celebration here in the wide Mantaro Valley, located just 15 minutes from the Francisco Carle Airport and the city of Jauja. Today, January 3rd, the grand Tunantada Festival 2026 will take place in Huamalí. We will witness these beautiful presentations from all the Tunantada groups, who will demonstrate their artistry by dancing this beautiful dance. We will see all the characters in their full splendor: the conceited and funny Chuto, the flirtatious Huankita, the arrogant Chapetón, the beautiful Ajaujinita, the lovely Sicaina, the muleteer, the Huatrila behind the orchestra—in short, a truly spectacular event that will surely thrill us. #traditions #culture #tunantada
