Exclusive: Interview with the 17th Gyalwang Karmapa, Ogyen Trinley Dorje on women's rights

The 17th Gyalwang Karmapa, Ogyen Trinley Dorje, tells TRT World's Sourav Roy that it's very important to support and encourage women in spiritual and wordly affairs. He says he supports the empowerment of women out of gratitude for his mother. The Karmapa says that though Tibetans might not be ready to accept a woman Dalai Lama or Karmapa now but the system of reincarnation has no denial for anyone. Everybody is equal and there is a possibility of a woman high lama, Dalai Lama or Karmapa in the future.
