The dance of the false lion has typically come from Senegal very much loved by the people who even pay to watch these magnificent lion which shows both spectacle and reflects the culture of masks which hide mysterious secrets and during the 5th edition of the Lamb festival Daj Danse Cheikh Ndom one of the biggest lion of Senegal and his group Dékal Thiossane it is to move to participate in the party and they gave us one of the most remarkable spectacle. The goal of the festival organized by Sab'ART is to educate and inspire young senegalese dancers to professionalize themselves and pursue their dance dreams as well as sensitize the public in Senegal so they understand that there is a professional and artistic form of Sabar and a cultural form of Sabar (Ada). While you may think that this is a common idea in Senegal, we must disappoint you. Artistic Sabar is more known outside Senegal, than inside Senegal. Every day dancers in Senegal fight for respect, for education and to make a living. A lot of dance events in Senegal cater to foreigners visiting or living in Senegal, but few cater to the Senegalese youth and put them at the center of the event - even though they are the future! In our festival everyone are welcome, but senegalese youth comes first. If you would like to join the Sab'ART team and contribute to make this festival happen every year, then we would like to hear from you. It can be everything from editing videos, doing social media, writing applications for funding, doing a fundraising event, bring your friends or students to the festival etc. Each year the festival grows and we're now receiving requests from other African dance artists to participate and we really hope we will eventually have the team necessary to welcome these artists in Senegal.
