Ever since I was a child, I’ve had an odd fascination with old churches and Arquitectura Mestiza. I would visit our neighbors’ Spanish-era houses and find myself captivated by the ornamentation, the craftsmanship, and the way air and light naturally moved through the spaces. Looking back, those moments were what sparked my love for architecture and ultimately led me to pursue a degree in it. For years, I dreamed of visiting Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar. I had seen countless photos and videos online, and while I had visited the Quezon City property before, I knew Bagac was the one I truly longed to experience. The day after I graduated, that dream finally came true. As I walked through the heritage houses and cobblestone streets, I felt the same wonder I did as a child. I couldn’t stop smiling the entire time.
