Behind the Headlines Why has the Church of England betrayed the Jewish people?

In this week's edition of Behind the Headlines, we will discuss the recent debate and vote by the Church of England General Synod on a document titled "A Moment of Truth: Faith in a Time of Genocide." The document accused Israel of committing genocide and called for the end of the modern state of Israel. This intense debate in the Synod represented a betrayal of Israel and the Jewish people by the State Church. More importantly, it reflects the Church of England turning its back on God and the biblical promises made to Israel. What does the future hold for the Church of England as Jew hatred and anti-Israel sentiments take root within the state church, including under the new Archbishop of Canterbury? We know from scripture that if the Church of England turns against Israel, it risks incurring a curse from God. Fortunately, the Church of England ultimately did not adopt the anti-Israel motion. However, this situation serves as a warning about the importance of respecting what is considered the "Apple of God’s eye."
