This video was found when I was dubbing a VHS tape from my parents' house onto a DVD. This incident is also known as the Neo Mugicha Incident. The bus that was hijacked was the Nishitetsu (Nishinippon Railroad) express bus, the Wakakusu-go, bound for Nishitetsu Tenjin Bus Center (now Nishitetsu Express Bus Terminal) from Saga Station Bus Center. At around 1:35 PM, while traveling on the Kyushu Expressway (near Dazaifu Interchange), a 17-year-old boy sitting in the front row announced the bus hijacking. The incident occurred in the middle of Golden Week, and many people worried about the safety of the passengers while watching television. Also, the bus driver, Mr. H, was diagnosed with PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder) as a result of this incident and was transferred to counter service. ←This information was excerpted from a newspaper article at the time.
