RC Toy Car Hobby Grade Receiver conversion

I often get asked if I can convert those cheap RC toy cars I buy in charity shops to 'Hobby Grade' radio control so here I show how I have done it. I have left the original motors and steering system. The only benefits I can see are that we will have increased the range we can control the vehicle and added proportional control to the drive system. You still have the low power motors, poor grip from low quality tyres, and the simple left/right steering. Main components - Cheap large RC toy car that uses 5 AA batteries (7.5 volts) I am not endorsing these products so I suggest you do your own search as the prices and specifications will vary and the links I used will probably be out of date when you come to read this.
