He leads melanoma and skin oncology efforts and is deeply involved in immunotherapy research, including how treatments affect the immune system. His work focuses on developing new therapies and advancing clinical trials for melanoma. Richard D. Carvajal, MD Dr. Carvajal is Deputy Physician-in-Chief and Director of Medical Oncology at Northwell Health Cancer Institute and an internationally recognized leader in melanoma research and early drug development. His work centers on developing innovative therapies with the goal of improving outcomes for patients with melanoma and other cancers. Jose Lutzky, MD Dr. Lutzky is Director of Cutaneous Oncology Services and Director of the Clinical Trials Coordinating Unit at Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, where he serves as a professor of medicine. A triple board-certified hematologist and oncologist, he specializes in melanoma and brings extensive experience in clinical research and patient care.
