May and June brought surprising reads! In today's video, I'm sharing 2 thrillers and 1 horror novel that few people have seen, but that deserve attention. From a Brazilian thriller based on true events to a dystopian novel with social commentary, and a psychological thriller, there are recommendations for all tastes. And many of these books are on Kindle Unlimited! In May, I read 'Voz de Prisão' (Voice of Prison) by Luciana de Gnone, a strong and exciting Brazilian thriller (5 stars). I also read 'A Esposa e a Viúva' (The Wife and the Widow) by Christian White, which has an intriguing premise, but the pacing left me hesitant (4 stars). In June, 'Sangue Raro' (Rare Blood) impacted me with its dystopian setting in Recife, full of social commentary and realistic horror (4 stars). Finally, 'Reflexos de Mundo Oculto' (Reflections of a Hidden World) didn't convince me: too much drama and too little mystery (3 stars). • 'Voz de Prisão' is based on a true story and follows a policewoman in search of justice. • 'The Wife and the Widow' alternates between two women who discover their husbands' secrets. • 'Rare Blood' divides society between witches, rare bloods, and mortals, with the protagonist fleeing the system. • 'Reflections of a Hidden World' features a dead singer and an assistant investigating, but the excessive drama gets in the way.
