TMGP Endurance Race 3, 2026 (2nd) race start Mach .05 team (race results in description)

Mach .05 Team (Riding Order) Mj - (30 min ea) Cole Carson (30 min ea) Joseph Guerra (30 min ea) Jade Guerra Everyone jumped the start. Then I blew my start. I fully expected to redeem myself after the bad job on the prior start. I never recovered here. 9th place… ugh. We are solidly into summer here in Texas. I am drenched in my leathers. I’m certainly not depleted but the physical side of things is much more work. Antithesis to the last race where it was cold and we struggled to keep enough heat in the tires to ride effectively. Biggest challenge for me is the ergonimics. I am stuggling with the downshifts in turn 1. Gets worse as the day goes on. I pull up on the lever but i keep failing. Very inconsistant performance from me. I am losing more time in turn 1 than I have at past races. My biggest strength is carrying apex corner speed with a lot of lean. Then i kill the exit being a gear too high. Future strategies: 1. Pull in the clutch (for a full second or more while my speed drops. 2. Then do all 3 downshifts. Blip the throttle as the clutch drops. (This is hard for me since i brake with all 4 fingers. I have some nuero issues and can’t perform 2 finger braking reliably anymore. ) The drawback to this approach is that if I missed a gear when I get to the end and let the clutch out, I won’t have any early warning that I missed the gear. On the Benelli i can’t physically feel the gear changes through my boot with the current setup. Next race is a month away so i have some adaptation strategies to develop.
