This House Hides as a Line and Opens Like a Wooden Puzzle

Tangram House has a quiet double personality. From the street, it almost disappears: a discreet horizontal line placed at the highest point of a gently sloping site. Walls, slopes, and the built volume itself protect the house from outside views. But once inside, everything changes. The house opens toward trees, lawn, pool, and lake, revealing a large wooden roof made of triangular planes — almost like a tangram assembled in architecture. This roof is the main gesture of the house. It protects the private side facing the street, while opening the social spaces toward the water with deep overhangs, verandas, and large glass surfaces. Inside, the house is organized in two levels: social areas below, private rooms above. Light enters through the large openings facing the lake, but also from above, through skylights that make the roof part of the experience. Tangram House is not only about size or view. It is about hiding and revealing: hiding from the street, revealing the lake, protecting intimacy, and using geometry as shelter, direction, and atmosphere.
