The God Who Provides | First & Best (Week 2) Money gets our attention. It shapes our sleep, our stress, our relationships, and that nagging question always running in the background: will there be enough? Left unchecked, money stops being a tool and quietly becomes a source of comfort, control, and identity — a god that promises safety it can't deliver. In this message, we look at the practice God gives to train our trust: the tithe. Not as a legalistic rule or a prosperity gimmick, but as a formation practice — a way God cares for our hearts so we don't get mastered by our stuff. Drawing on Jesus' warning against greed in Luke 12, God's bold invitation in Malachi 3 to "put me to the test," and Jesus' words in Luke 11, we land on a simple truth: your spending, your saving, your fear, and your habits are already training your heart — every single day. The tithe is God's invitation to rewire that training. So the better question isn't "Can I afford this?" It's "What is currently training my heart?" Wherever you are, there's a next step: Nothing → Something → Proportional → Generous.
