Hidráulica Básica. Exercício 5.4 - Parte 1
It is desired to pump 10 l/s of water through a piping system with the following characteristics: continuous operation 24 h, Hazen-Williams roughness coefficient C = 90, Bresse coefficient K = 1.5, discharge diameter equal to suction diameter, actual lengths of suction and discharge pipes, respectively, of 6.0 m and 674.0 m, equivalent lengths of existing fittings in the suction and discharge pipes, respectively, of 43.40 m and 35.10 m, geometric height of 20 m. With the characteristic curve of a pump, shown in Figure 5.22, determine: a) By connecting two of these pumps in parallel, is the desired flow rate obtained? b) If so, what is the flow rate in each pump? c) What is the flow rate and head provided by a pump installed alone in the system? d) What checks should be performed before choosing the pump, according to the operating points obtained?
