China's First Lady Peng Liyuan visits Fortismere School in London

Chinese language learning has been receiving much more attention in Britain and has brought hope to a brighter future of China-UK relations, said China's First Lady Peng Liyuan during a visit to the Fortismere School in London, on Wednesday. During her visit to the school, Peng gave books and audio and video materials on Chinese culture and language learning to the school as a gift. Accompanied by the UK Minister of State at the Department for Education Nick Gibb and the school principal, Peng watched art performance, and attended Chinese language teaching class and interacted with some girl students at the school. Peng said as the UNESCO special envoy for the promotion of women's and girls' education, she was glad to see the healthy and happy growth of girl students. China and the UK could have exchanges and learn from each other in promoting the education of women and girls, she said.
