Arthur Stockel, Clarinettist Extrodinaire! #clarinet #paris #orchestra #luxembourg

Arthur Stockel, principal clarinet with the Luxembourg Philharmonic and winner of the 2022 Ghent International Clarinet Competition, took me to Paris on the train to explore the city he studied in. We spoke about his path to Luxembourg, his love of jazz and chamber music, and his new album of Weber concertos and the clarinet quintet which was released in January 2025. Arthur introduced me to one of his chamber music partners, the wonderful pianist Manuel Vieillard, we shopped on the rue Montorgueil and then cooked in the apartment of one of his close friends. And in the middle you can hear all about the infamous French andouillette! We cooked herb ristotto and chicken in a cream sauce, we bought wonderful wine, cheese and fruit and generally had the most gorgeous time in the City of Lights.
