Dr. Sanjaya Satapathy is a Professor of Medicine at the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra University, and Associate Chief of Hepatology and serves as the Medical Director of Liver Transplantation at the Northwell Health Center for Liver Diseases & Transplantation as well as the Program Director of Transplant Hepatology Fellowship at Northshore University Hospital/Northwell Health. Dr. Satapathy's expertise lies in the field of gastroenterology and hepatology, with a specific focus on Metabolic-Dysfunction Associated Steatotic Liver Disease (MASLD), hepatitis C, post-transplant outcomes, MASH-related complications, and frailty/sarcopenia. He is also a skilled advanced endoscopist proficient in techniques such as EUS (endoscopic ultrasound) and ERCP (endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography). With an impressive publication record of over 180 peer-reviewed articles in prestigious journals, Dr. Satapathy's contributions to the scientific community have garnered significant recognition. He holds an h-Index of 41, and his work has accumulated over 7500 citations. Dr. Satapathy is triple board-certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine having trained in Internal Medicine from New York Medical College, Gastroenterology from North Shore-LIJ Hospital, and Transplant Hepatology from Mount Sinai Hospital.
