Discoteca J & J - Lido degli Scacchi (FE)

It was 1974 when a well-known entrepreneur, Ivo Monterastelli, opened "La Fattoria" at the Lido degli Scacchi, a restaurant, pizzeria, and dance hall that quickly became the most popular in the area. But it was only a few years later that it was renamed the J&J disco, in honor of his two children, Jimmy and Jenny. The two areas, the disco and the dance hall, were somehow separated, each with its own entrance and dedicated audience. The J&J disco and the "La Fattoria" dance hall were a fearsome entertainment machine: at the height of its success, it boasted a total of seven indoor and outdoor dance floors, scattered throughout the immense garden. This was complemented by the "Pala J," a tent-theater capable of hosting concerts by top Italian artists such as Jovanotti and Pooh, as well as African gatherings that attracted young people from all over Italy. AN IMMENSE VENUE Legend has it that the J&J disco could accommodate up to twelve thousand people at a time. This number was perhaps significantly overestimated, but it was truly impressive: its maximum capacity during the summer, including the entire garden and the open-air La Fattoria dance club, reached 7,000 to 8,000 people, effectively placing it among the top spots in the country. Thanks to its size, it could therefore satisfy any musical taste: it was impossible not to find your favorite genre, ranging from Latin American to hip-hop, commercial disco, techno trance, and hardcore. You could listen to music selections from top DJs and producers, such as Roberto Stoppa, "Gius" (who later became famous throughout Europe for a Zombie Nation remix under the name Technoboy), DJ Valez, Luca Antolini, Gianni Parrini, and the never-before-forgotten Marzio "Dance" Mugnaioni, King of the TNT Kamasutra nightclub, still active today.
