Route 14 | St-Laurent → Tunney’s Pasture | Full POV In A New Flyer D40i Invero

Join me aboard an iconic OC Transpo New Flyer D40i Invero as we travel westbound on Route 14 from St-Laurent Station all the way to Tunney’s Pasture Station on a cold and rainy Ottawa evening. This full-length ride showcases the atmosphere of city transit during wet weather, with reflections on the streets, busy traffic, and smooth operation through the heart of the city. Route 14 is one of Ottawa’s classic cross-city routes, connecting the east end to the west while passing through several major areas including Vanier, downtown Ottawa, Somerset, Chinatown, and Hintonburg before reaching Tunney’s Pasture. The route offers a great look at urban Ottawa transit operations and some of the city’s busiest streets. Today’s bus is a New Flyer D40i Invero, one of OC Transpo’s most recognizable older buses. Built in the early 2000s, these buses are now over 20 years old and have become a favorite among transit enthusiasts thanks to their unique styling, loud engine sound, and classic interior design. Despite their age, many Inveros still perform reliably in daily service. The operator (myself) did an excellent job keeping the bus moving efficiently and maintaining the schedule despite the rainy conditions, traffic, and frequent stops along the route. Smooth driving, careful handling, and good time management helped keep the trip running right on schedule throughout the evening ride.
