4x 2009 KONE E3X Escalator DOWN ride at Heathrow T5 C Gates Arrivals down to Transit Train

These are the 4x escalators from the arrivals level of the Heathrow Terminal 5 C Gates satellite building down to the Transit Train that takes you back to Terminal 5A. They are lovely but the top set does need some oiling! There are no more escalators in Arrivals at this satellite, but there are more on the Departures side which is on the floor above… The C Gates were built later than the A & B Gates. While the rest of the Terminal opened in March 2008, these gates didn’t open until June 2011 - fortunately the escalators were still Eco3000 E3Xs built in Kone’s Keighley, England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 factory as they went in earlier (2009). It is a different layout to the B gates inside the arrivals space. The B Gates has its escalators in a different setup - with 3 shorter sets rather than 1 short and 1 long set. It also has 2 travelators but the C gates do not.
