Three Easy Ways to Create a Simple Clay Slab Tray at Home Without Using Studio Molds!

This video is intended to help out my students who may be working remotely from home currently during the pandemic. Specifically, I have kids working on shaker sets, and many will need to make a tray or holder, and this method of making a tray from a one-piece slab may be helpful to them. In this video, I show the rolling of a slab, and using CORNSTARCH- also referred to as CORNFLOWER in some locations, to act as an agent to keep the clay from sticking to the mold I will be draping over. I use a bowl from my kitchen for one tray, a “styrofoam” type tray from the grocery store, (and for anyone who is going to reprimand me regarding the environment, it is actually a compostable tray!) and also I used a coil that I draped the clay down into.
