Derryn Hinch, the 'Human Headline', dies at 82 | 7NEWS

Derryn Hinch, the journalist, broadcaster and former Victorian senator known as the 'Human Headline', has died at age 82. Born in New Zealand in 1944, Hinch became a prominent talkback radio host in Melbourne, served time in jail three times for contempt of court while campaigning against paedophile priests, and was elected to the Senate in 2016 as an independent for the Justice Party. He underwent a liver transplant in 2010 after battling liver cancer and was open about his past struggles with alcohol consumption during his radio career.
