[4K] Explore Zagreb on Foot | Around the Iconic National Theatre Join me on a relaxing walk through the heart of central Zagreb, Croatia, starting in front of the stunning Croatian National Theatre (HNK Zagreb). We begin by taking in the beautiful architecture and atmosphere around this iconic cultural landmark before heading north along Frankopanska Street (Frankopanska ulica). As we continue, we pass the impressive Statue of Andrija Kačić Miošić, a notable monument in Zagreb’s city center, and make our way toward one of the city’s most fascinating hidden attractions - the Grič Tunnel (Tunel Grič). Built during World War II between 1943 and 1945, the Grič Tunnel was originally constructed as a civilian bomb shelter and underground passage beneath the historic Grič/Gradec hill. Today, this unique tunnel has been transformed into a popular pedestrian walkway and cultural space, often hosting art installations, exhibitions, and special events as part of Zagreb’s vibrant city life. After exiting onto Pavla Radića Street (Ul. Pavla Radića), we take a short detour through a near by passageway near the steps leading up to the famous Dolac Market, Zagreb’s beloved open-air market. Our walk ends back at the city’s main square, Ban Josip Jelačić Square (Trg bana Josipa Jelačića) - the perfect spot to wrap up this scenic stroll through Zagreb’s historic center.
