This is just my opinion on what I think should be done, so please just keep it in the back of your mind. First of all, I think it's important to walk around. The place to look is where the stones are moving with the waves. The idea is to walk carefully, trying not to get wet, and wait for the jadeite to make its appearance. You have a good chance of finding it if the waves are reasonably strong and the stones are replaced quickly. However, even if the waves aren't that strong, if you walk 200 or 300 meters and then walk back, most of the stones should have been replaced, so you still have a good chance. That's all. There are also people collecting them in the ocean wearing special clothing; they are just looking at a slightly deeper area, but what they are doing is the same as described above.
