This is a Motormouth couple car review of the all-new 2026 Jeep Cherokee hybrid compact SUV. The 2026 Jeep Cherokee hybrid is powered by a 1.6L turbocharged 4-cylinder hybrid powertrain with two electric motors, it’s matched to an eCVT and gets a combined 210 horsepower and 230 lb-ft of torque, standard AWD. With a full tank of fuel, you’ll get about 800 km/500 miles of range. The Cherokee Hybrid is made in Mexico. This 2026 Jeep Cherokee hybrid has a comfortable drive, it’s smooth and the cabin is well insulated. It gets good fuel economy, 6.1L/100 km, 38.5 MPG city and 6.7L/100 km, 35 MPG highway. The Cherokee hybrid can tow 3500 pounds. Compared to the outgoing model, the 2026 Jeep Cherokee hybrid is taller, wider and longer giving you much more interior space for passengers. The 2026 Jeep Cherokee hybrid comes standard with Jeep Active Drive 4x4 system with standard rear-axle disconnect and Selec-terrain traction management with four drive modes. To get you the best fuel economy, the rear axle disconnects and the vehicle operates primarily in FWD. The system automatically reconnects the rear axle when it detects the extra need for traction. So, you get the fuel economy of a FWD model with the traction of an AWD model when needed. Jeep says it gets best in class approach and departure angles at 19.6 and 29.4 degrees with a breakover angle of 18.8 degrees. This 2026 Jeep Cherokee hybrid has a great looking interior, definitely more upscale than expected. It also comes with some nice standard features including, a 10.25” digital driver display, 12.3” touchscreen with Uconnect 5, wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto, 6-speaker audio system, cloth upholstery, 6-way manual driver’s seat, 4-way manual passenger seat, heated front seats and a manual tailgate. In Canada, the 2026 Jeep Cherokee hybrid starts at $42,390, Laredo $47,390, Limited $52,390, 85th Anniversary Edition $53,890, Overland $56,390.
