Matthew | The Beginning: The King Has Come | Introduction

Matthew wrote for Jewish Christians, presenting Jesus as the King and Messiah who fulfills Old Testament prophecy, beginning with a genealogy tracing Jesus back to Abraham. Mark focused on Roman Christians facing persecution, portraying Jesus as the suffering servant. Luke addressed Greek-speaking Christians with detailed accounts of Jesus as the perfect man and savior of all people, especially outcasts. John wrote to a theologically mature, universal audience, presenting Jesus as the divine Son of God through seven "I am" statements.
