Three Sisters and the Elephant Rock | Taranaki 🇳🇿
Exploring the stunning Three Sisters and Elephant Rock at Tongapōrutu, Taranaki — dramatic sea stacks, hidden caves, black sand beaches, and one of New Zealand’s most unique coastal landscapes. Carved by thousands of years of wind and wave erosion, these towering rock formations have constantly changed shape over time. Interestingly, there were once four “sisters,” and the famous Elephant Rock lost its trunk-like shape due to erosion, making the coastline a constantly evolving natural wonder.
