David Booth was placed on 10 years deferred probation for fraudulent use of identifying information — a second degree felony. When arrested, police found 12 stolen items in his backpack belonging to 7 different victims — credit cards, debit cards, driver's licenses, and health insurance cards. Not one penny was ever paid back to any of them. After nearly a year on probation, Booth stopped reporting entirely in February and March 2026. No calls. No rescheduling. No contact whatsoever. His probation officer only saw him again after he was re-arrested. In court, his attorney argued poverty, homelessness, and mental health as reasons for his failure to report. Booth claimed he was living in a tent after being kicked out of the Salvation Army with no transportation. But Judge Stevens wasn't buying it.
