After Pope Francis convoked and opened the Holy Year on Christmas Eve, December 24, 2024, with the traditional opening of the Holy Door of St. Peter's Basilica, marking the beginning of the “Jubilee of Hope.” In this way, the Archdiocese of Bogotá joined the Universal Church in this Holy Year, following a schedule throughout 2025, so that more than 15,000 pilgrims from 300 parishes of this particular Church; religious communities, lay movements, foundations, Marian groups, schools, and universities, among others; could experience the Jubilee, gaining plenary indulgence through confession, catechesis, and the celebration of the Eucharist.
