Antarctic Science in the Ross Sea

Science on the ice, science under the ice, science about the ice… I guess we can say that we like doing science in Antarctica. __ New Zealand was a big player in helping to set up of the Ross Sea Marine Protected Area in 2017, and we’re staying in the game to monitor how it’s going. The Ross Sea MPA is 1.55million square kilometres of ocean that we study annually to understand the system as a whole and keep tabs on what’s changing. Our researchers work on ships and from Antarctic bases investigating all aspects of the marine environment. This work will help us understand the system and is vital to make sure the right decisions are made about Antarctica’s future. __ Learn more on our website: https://niwa.co.nz/oceans/research/an...
