Royal Enfield 250 4/5 speed gear selector mechanism set up and adjustment discussed.
This video features a Royal Enfield 250 engine I totally stripped and rebuilt, and on reassembling the gearbox, it was found to contain a mixture of 4 and 5 speed gears, as well as incompatible selector mechanism components, which needed to be put in order. On top of that, a little filing and grinding was also required, to make the selector pawl and ratchet stop plates work correctly.
