Finishing Up Bale Walls | Couple Builds STRAW BALE House In The Desert

In this video we complete the placement of our straw bales for all the wall sections between the window and door bucks. Eventually, we will add some more bales under the windows, but these won't provide any additional support for the roof structure. They will simply serve the purpose of insulation. Next, we need to build a box beam that sit on top of the bales to give us a mechanism to compress all of the bales with strapping that will run under the sill plate and over the box beam. It will also give us a base on which to place the roof assembly. The box beam and roof assembly should add a lot more stability to the structure and will also provide a good deal of protection from weather.
