The Kooks cover Coldplay's Violet Hill on Radio 1 Coldplay news The Kooks performed at Maida Vale in the Live Lounge minus drummer Paul who hurt his arm. Hear the Kooks perform a live lullaby version of their single Shine On and a cover of one of Hugh's favourite singles by Coldplay, Violet Hill. The group have a busy festival schedule lined up for the Summer including V Festival, T in the Park and Oxygen. The group explain why they enjoyed making their second studio album, The Konk, as they had the freedom to be as creative as they wanted even though former bassist Max Rafferty left during the making of the album. Hugh revealed that Max is still making music and is forming a new band.
