"Die Stimme der Mädchen" - Der Mädchenchor Hannover | Dokumentation des NDR Fernsehen 2017

"The Voice of the Girls" - The Hanover Girls' Choir | NDR Television Documentary 2017 The Hanover Girls' Choir is an internationally renowned choir that performs musical works from the Renaissance to the present day. Led by Prof. Gudrun Schröfel for the past 18 years, the choir has received numerous awards, including at international competitions. Since spring 2017, Gudrun Schröfel has co-directed the Hanover Girls' Choir with Andreas Felber. The documentary shows how the girls' singing careers begin at the age of six with an audition. Only the very best make it into the choir. It also follows the older choir members on their concert tour to Japan, impressively demonstrating how, even so far from home, their voices captivate audiences. The girls' close-knit community is especially evident during their annual singing retreat. In Frenswegen, near the Dutch border, stands an old monastery, and it is here that the annual singing retreat takes place. Wake-up call: 7:00 a.m., first rehearsal: 9:00 a.m., lunch: 12:00 p.m., second rehearsal: 2:00 p.m. And all of this: eight days without a break. Despite this, the girls look forward to this retreat for six months in advance. But there are also many tears. Because Frenswegen also means saying goodbye. This year, eight girls are leaving the choir after ten years of membership, as they are starting university after graduating from high school. One thing is clear: after such a long time in the choir, the girls won't leave without coming up with something very special for their farewell evening. The documentary paints a touching portrait of a close-knit group who enchant every audience with their voices on stage. https://programm.ard.de/TV/Themenschw...
