안성, 일자리·교통망 확충에 총력...중부권 광역급행철도 '관심'

[Report] Hyundai Motor Group is investing over 1 trillion won to build a battery research center in Anseong's 5th General Industrial Complex. In addition to 24 industrial and agricultural complexes, Anseong City is developing 15 additional industrial complexes, including the 5th General Industrial Complex and the Dongshin Industrial Complex. Plans to build a transportation network to support industry are also rapidly expanding. Three highway lines and two railway lines are being promoted. The Central Region Express Railway project, the results of which will be released within the year as a feasibility study for private investment, is the most pressing issue. [Kim Bo-ra / Anseong Mayor] This is a GTX-level railway that runs from Jamsil to Cheongju Airport via Yongin and Anseong. Last September, we began a private sector feasibility study. Local lawmakers and the city worked together to ensure the project passed the eligibility process. Mayor Kim explained that to attract young people, they would provide rental housing, dormitory-style youth housing, and support real estate brokerage fees and moving expenses. The Samjuk Guksabong Cultural Festival, which was first held last year, was discussed as a local issue. Residents offered suggestions for revitalizing the festival. [Samjuk-myeon Resident] There's not much to enjoy on the hiking trail. There's not much to see. There's absolutely no food. [Hwang Gyu-yong / President of the Samjuk-myeon Agricultural Management Association] We need to transform the festival into a participatory one, offering diverse programs like concerts, performances, hands-on experiences, and food, making it a place where everyone can enjoy and participate. Residents proposed ways to diversify the program, boost tourism, and expand private sector participation, and requested active support from the city.
