The Liverpool Loop Line was abandoned in 1964 by British Rail which left it to fall into ruin until 1986 when plans were drawn up to look at moving forward. It also suffered from the recession of the 1970's and was removed from Mersey Rail's expansion plans and it was eventually agreed to turn it into a footpath and cycle path. It runs from Aintree to Hunts Cross. This section of video is from the Rice Pane (opposite MacDonald's) to where access to Walton Hall Park can be made. Walton Hall Park is a 130 acres in size. Initially opened to the public in 1934 and contains 2 lakes which are used by Anglers. All pathways are tarmacked.
