In this video we cover the meniscus test you can do at home to self-diagnose the problem, but keep in mind that if you want a legitimate diagnosis you need to visit your doctor and likely have imaging done...like an MRI. If you do have a meniscus tear, your doctor will either refer you to an orthopedic surgeon for a surgery consult or to a physical therapist to begin doing rehab exercises. Keep in mind that if you end up going to physical therapy, most physiotherapy clinics are set up to help patients that have just had surgery...so if you’re looking to PREVENT surgery, you need to do some research and find the physical therapy clinic that is right for you. We recommend a manual-based physical therapy clinic. The physical therapists there will likely have the right training to diagnose and treat someone looking to avoid surgery, injections and medications.
