However, the opposite happened: the power that started the war had to quickly retreat and was humiliated. These ill-considered actions led to results opposite to those intended. Planning and strategy, not faith in your own power, even if you are a superpower… And, of course, other current foreign policy issues… We invite you to a conversation with Magdalena El Ghamari and Jerzy Marek Nowakowski. Dr. Magdalena El Ghamari – PhD in social sciences in the field of defense studies (2013), researcher and lecturer at the Institute of Political Science and International Relations (INPiSM). Her research focuses on terrorism, propaganda, and recruitment in terrorist organizations, radicalization and extremism, and issues related to the MENA region (religion and culture of the Arab-Muslim world). She is a member of the Radicalization & Extremism Advisory Board (RAN) and the Society for Libyan Studies (The British Academy), as well as the Association of Veterans of UN Peacekeeping Missions. From 2017 to 2020, she was a scholarship holder of the Minister of Science and Higher Education for outstanding young scientists; she serves as an expert in areas such as Islamic extremism and internal security. From 2023 to 2025, she worked as a visiting professor at Heidelberg Skopje (Macedonia). In parallel, she works as an independent international expert and trainer for national and international institutions (including FRONTEX, CEPOL, UNESCO, KFOR, and EULEX), conducting training on the operational environment and the Arab-Muslim region, including in contexts such as Afghanistan, Iraq, Kosovo, and Libya. Jerzy Marek Nowakowski is a historian and diplomat, analyst, and commentator on international affairs. From 1997 to 2001, he served as Undersecretary of State in the Chancellery of the Prime Minister and Chief Foreign Affairs Advisor to Prime Minister Jerzy Buzek. He served as the Polish Ambassador to Latvia (2010–2014) and to Armenia (2014–2017). He is associated with the analytical and expert community; He heads the Academic Center for Strategic Analysis at the War Studies University (appointed director in 2025).
